Every citizen should be worthy of the path Ukraine is on today, giving it more strength and more opportunities. After all, the main thing for everyone is the victory of our country.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his traditional address to Ukrainians, referring primarily to officials and representatives of state institutions. The Head of State called on his fellow citizens to be indifferent to everyone around them, to support and care about people and always bring the result closer (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).

"To keep our eyes on the photos of soldiers on the Wall of Remembrance and other memorials. And I thank everyone who works for Ukraine, who fights for Ukraine in this way: with dignity, courage, and strength," the President said.

The Head of State noted that this day is a special day - the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine who died in the battles for its independence from 2014 until 24 February 2022.

"Many Ukrainians today have someone to remember and whose memory to honour. Many of us today were thinking of our loved ones, relatives and friends who are now at war. Who are now risking their lives for the sake of Ukraine every day, every hour," the President said.

According to him, every such day is a reminder to all our people of what makes up our state.

"Everything that is our state, and everyone who is our state - every institution, every official - must feel what kind of Ukraine is behind them. How much pain is in her heart. How much courage she has. What a memory of people who are no longer there. What is now in its symbols. But how differently people now perceive everything that humiliates Ukraine, its strength and hope," the President stressed.

As a reminder, on 29 August, Zelenskyy paid tribute to the fallen defenders of Ukraine. The Head of State stressed that the soldiers defend Ukraine's right to be among free nations at the cost of their own lives. He stressed that there are no words that would be enough to describe the strength, greatness and sacrifice of the Heroes who remain forever in battle.

"Words are always less than what we feel. And let the tears that will come today, let the silence that will sound louder than any words, let our respect, absolutely sincere, tell everyone how we really feel and how grateful we are to all our defenders, whose lives have become the life of Ukraine," the President said.
