Two more bodies found under the rubble: the number of victims of the Russian missile strike on Kharkiv has increased
During the search and rescue operation, the bodies of two more Russian victims were found at the site of the high-rise destroyed by a Russian missile. A woman and a man who lived in the building that was hit by the Russians on January 23 have been freed.
In total, ten civilians have been killed in the missile attack carried out by Russia the day before. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
He reported at 13:56 that rescuers had found the bodies of two more dead Kharkiv residents during the rubble removal.
About 20 minutes later, the remains of the victims of the enemy attack were unblocked.
"The rescuers unblocked the bodies of the residents of the house: A 57-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman. As of now, the death toll has increased to 10 people," noted Syniehubov.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov added that both Russian victims lived in the destroyed five-story building on the ground floor.
As a reminder, Russia launched a new attack on Ukraine the morning before. The invaders fired at peaceful Ukrainian cities with Tu-95MS missiles and ballistic missiles. Kyiv and the surrounding area, Sumy region and Kharkiv came under enemy attack. And it was in this eastern regional center that the attack led to the most serious consequences. The night before, eight victims of the attack were known, including an 8-year-old girl and her mother.
More than 50 Kharkiv residents were injured.
However, the rescuers continued to search, as they received information that two more people might be trapped under the rubble. They were found dead on January 24.
