"They demand a decisive step": Scholz speaks on talks with Putin and names condition

Scholz promised further support for Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has spoken about his talks with Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin. According to him, negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are possible only after the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of our country.

Scholz said this in an interview with Heilbronner Stimme. He noted that Russia's aggression against Ukraine is "the return of imperialism to Europe."

"Russia's attack on Ukraine is the return of imperialism to Europe. That is why now is a turning point, and arms supplies will be carried out as long as necessary," the chancellor said.

He also noted that he had spoken with Putin in the past and plans to continue the dialog in the future.

At the same time, Scholz promised further support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia. In particular, when asked how long Germany would be able to supply Ukraine with weapons, he replied that Berlin was ready for a long war.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently reiterated that in order to move on to negotiations on ending the war, the Russian occupation forces must leave all of our territory.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- The US State Department denied information about the alleged discussion of peace talks with Russia. They emphasized that Ukraine will resolve any issues in this context on its own.

- Meanwhile, the entourage of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin reiterated its readiness to negotiate with Ukraine. At the same time, Kremlin aide Yuriy Ushakov complained that the Ukrainian government did not want to contact Russia.
