"These are election messages": Zelensky reacts to Trump's scandalous statement on Ukraine. Video
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that US presidential candidate Donald Trump's statements about the imminent end of the war in Ukraine are just election messages. They may be "not entirely realistic."
The Ukrainian leader expressed this opinion in an interview with CNN political analyst and journalist Fareed Zakaria. He noted that he could not understand why the American politician said this and how exactly he was going to end the war, as he did not know the details.
"My position is that the pre-election period and pre-election messages are pre-election messages. Sometimes they are not quite realistic. And so I think that these messages cannot disturb us, all our people," Zelensky said.
At the same time, he noted that he had spoken with Trump on the phone, and he assured him that he was very supportive of Ukraine.
"And we had a good conversation. (Trump said) he will support us very much, he understands how difficult it is to survive during the war. And he will do everything to strengthen Ukraine," the president emphasized.
Therefore, the head of state expressed the opinion that it is great that everything sounds like this. Because of this, Zelensky would like to share his victory plan with Trump to hear his reaction.
As reported by OBOZ.UA:
- In an interview with Zakaria, Zelensky also admitted that the idea of the Kursk operation was very risky. However, the idea was to draw part of the Russian forces there, in particular, from the eastern front in Ukraine, where the situation is extremely difficult.
- US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has said that if he wins the election, he will end the war in Ukraine before he officially takes office - his inauguration is scheduled for January 20, 2025. His plan is to cut energy prices by half or more.
