The occupiers hit Kyiv with "Iskanders" in the morning: cars and roofs of buildings were on fire, there is a dead man and injured. Photos and all the details

Fires broke out in Kyiv due to Russian missile attack

On the morning of December 20, Russia launched five ballistic missiles at Kyiv, and explosions were heard in the city during an air raid alert as air defense systems were activated. As a result of the enemy attack, debris from the downed targets fell in several districts: 11 people were injured and one man died.

The fires caused the right bank of the city to be covered in smoke. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported the attack on his Telegram channel, urging residents to take shelter.

"One person was killed in the capital as a result of the morning attack, 11 were wounded, five of them hospitalized, and the rest were treated on the spot," the KRMA reported after 11:00.

It is noted that cars were burning in the Holosiivskyi district due to the fall of rocket fragments.

The National Police reported that a man who was on the street at the time of the shelling was found dead.

In addition, the fall of the downed target was recorded at another address in the same area. Two people were injured there: one was treated on the spot and the other was hospitalized.

According to the emergency services, a fire broke out in the Solomianskyi district. Emergency services, including medics, were sent to the scene.

"There are fires on the roofs of buildings, cars are also burning. The heating main is damaged. Emergency services are working everywhere. Doctors hospitalized two victims," said Mayor Klitschko.

The KRMA reported that the attack resulted in debris falling in three districts of the city.

In particular, in the Holosiivskyi district, an office building, a road surface, and a gas pipe were damaged with subsequent depressurization; five cars caught fire.

At another address, the facade of an office building was damaged, followed by a fire on the roof, and the 15th floor was destroyed (probably because people were trapped there).

A fire broke out in a non-residential building in Solomianskyi district as a result of falling debris – it was extinguished. In Shevchenkivskyi district, there was a fire in a non-residential building.

"Seven residential buildings on 70 Antonovycha Street have been disconnected from the gas supply. This is due to the fall of rocket fragments in Holosiivskyi district. Relevant services are working to restore services," KRMA said.

In addition, 630 residential buildings, 16 medical institutions, 17 schools, and 13 kindergartens in Kyiv were left without heat due to the damage to the heating main.

Russian Federation attacks Kyiv with ballistic missiles

The morning alert across Ukraine was caused by the takeoff of MiG-31K aircraft in Russia. After 07:00, the Air Force reported the movement of four high-speed targets in the direction of Kyiv.

Monitoring channels noted that the missiles (probably North Korean KN-23) were neutralized by air defense forces, but the threat of enemy strikes remains.

Later, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that the enemy launched ballistic missiles in the direction of Kyiv again.

According to the Air Force, at about 07:00, the enemy launched five "Iskander-M"/KN-23 ballistic missiles at Kyiv from Voronezh and Bryansk regions of the Russian Federation, and all of them were shot down as a result of combat work by Ukraine's air defense.

Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council Andrii Kovalenko said that Russians launched ballistic missiles from the Bryansk and Voronezh regions of Russia.

Later, he pointed out that Russian dictator Putin, having lost several strategic facilities in Russia, decided to attack civilian cars and houses in Kyiv, frightening children.

"When some people run around saying that they are offended by the word 'dolbo*ob', I advise you not to fall for this nonsense. This is an ordinary war criminal who has been doing this for three years. And the more strategic facilities in Russia are destroyed, the sooner it will end," he said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on the night of December 20, the defenders of the sky shot down all Russian kamikaze drones that tried to attack Kyiv. The wreckage fell on the territory of non-residential buildings in the Desnianskyi district.

A large-scale fire broke out in a 15,000-square-meter warehouse in the Boryspil district of Kyiv region due to an attack by enemy UAVs. No one was killed or injured.
