"The hardest part of winter is ahead": DIU warns of Russian missile strikes and points out the main dangers

The most difficult part of the winter for Ukrainians is ahead as there are no massive Russian missile attacks on targets in Ukraine right now. The enemy has not yet restored the stockpile of missiles it needs, which were used against our country last winter.

This was stated by Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, during the United News TV marathon. He also emphasized that Russia has an "unlimited number" of missiles for S-300 systems.

The spokesperson noted that the occupiers have significant stocks of old Soviet weapons, although not all of them can be restored or modernized. Russia also retains certain capabilities to produce other types of weapons.

"So, of course, this is a serious challenge for the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, and certainly for the pro-Ukrainian coalition," Yusov said.

He noted that Ukraine needs Western support and strengthening of its air and missile defense systems as the most difficult part of the winter is still ahead.

Yusov said that Russia is currently able to restore its missile stockpile, although this is not happening to the extent that the occupiers would like to see. This means that the aggressor's missile resources are now much smaller than they were last year and at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

"But nevertheless, they are there. This means that the threat to the Ukrainian energy and civilian infrastructure remains," the spokesman noted.

Yusov also noted that the enemy uses active combined attacks, launching drones and missiles simultaneously.

"However, the enemy has not yet restored the scale and number of attacks of the so-called Surovikin era when he actually destroyed the Russian missile arsenal," Yusov emphasized.

He also explained that the occupiers may have changed their tactics as missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine have not yet been dominant.

"This may be a change in tactics, and yet the hardest part of winter, including in terms of temperature, is ahead. This means that every air raid alarm is a serious warning of a danger," the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine representative added.
