Scholz comes up with new excuse for not giving Taurus missiles to Ukraine: it may hit Moscow

Taurus missiles delivery - Scholz is afraid of dragging Germany into war

If misused, a Taurus missile could hit a target somewhere in Moscow. In addition, if Germany were to supply the missiles, it would have to be directly involved in the launch.

This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in a commentary to the DPA agency. In this way, he explained the reason for not transferring these munitions with a maximum range of 500 km to Ukraine.

"That is why - and I will say this with all diplomatic abstraction - others also made sure that they knew where everything goes," he added.

The German chancellor emphasized that in the case of supplying Taurus missiles, Germany would have to be directly involved in the launch of them. "I believe that this is impossible," Scholz said.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz categorically rejected the supply of German Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. He justifies his position by the risk of Germany's involvement in the war.

By the way, the Bundestag also did not support the proposal to expand assistance to Ukraine and provide Taurus missiles. Thus, the German authorities have once again postponed the issue of transferring these air-launched cruise missiles to the Ukrainian army.
