Poland secretly transferred Mi-24 helicopters to Ukraine: WSJ has learned the details

Poland recently transferred about a dozen Mi-24 helicopters to Ukraine. Warsaw has not officially reported on the respective deliveries.

The Wall Street Journal writes about it, citing sources familiar with the matter. At the same time, the article notes that Ukraine's air fleet remains small compared to that of Russia.

In addition, Ukrainian aircraft have less sophisticated guidance and protection systems.

At the same time, Ukraine's use of aviation is limited so as not to lose planes, the article says.

The Mi-24 is a Soviet attack helicopter, which was the main aircraft in the armament of the countries of the socialist camp. The Mi-24 concept implied close interaction with armored and infantry units. It became one of the symbols of war in Afghanistan. Today it is in service of several countries, including Ukraine.

- Earlier it became known that the Czech Republic will transfer additional attack helicopters to Ukraine. Czech army has about 40 helicopters in service, 30 of which are Soviet and Russian-made series of Mi.

- The head of the NATO Military Committee Rob Bauer said that Ukraine will not receive Western fighter jets during its counterattack. Time is needed to train pilots and technical personnel, as well as to set up logistics.
