Russia strikes at Odesa region with "Shaheds"

On the night of September 26, the aggressor country Russia carried out another massive attack with Shahed-136/131 kamikaze d rones in Odesa region. Most of the drones were destroyed in the air, but there were also hits: the port infrastructure was destroyed, trucks burned and drivers were injured.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper. He also showed footage of the aftermath of the attack (to view the photos, scroll down to the bottom of the news).

According to the official, the occupiers terrorized the region with Shaheds for two hours. Air defense forces worked extremely hard and shot down most of the attacking UAVs.

At the same time, the Izmail district came under attack by enemy drones. Arrivals at the port infrastructure were recorded there.

"Two men, truck drivers, were injured. One of them received medical aid on the spot, the other was hospitalized with a severe arm injury," Kiper said.

He added that the checkpoint building, warehouses and about 30 trucks were damaged in the area. Rescuers quickly extinguished the fires. However, six trucks burned to the ground.

According to monitoring channels, the Shahed strike occurred at the Orlivka-Isaccea ferry crossing between Ukraine and Romania. Romanian social media posted videos of themoment of arrival filmed from their territory.

The Southern Defense Forces emphasized that the night attack by Russian kamikaze drones was aimed at the port and border infrastructure of Odesa region, as well as the Danube region. Within Odesa region, 10 Shaheds were destroyed.

At the same time, the hit caused a fire in the waiting area, and two people were treated. According to spokeswoman Natalia Gumenyuk, there was a very serious risk to the passengers of the bus, which was preparing to cross the border, and the border infrastructure at the international checkpoint was damaged.

"The hit to the port and border infrastructure caused the destruction of grain storage facilities, damage to the administrative building, and trucks of private carriers. Stabilization measures are being taken at the international checkpoint, and passage operations have been suspended. Vehicular traffic is temporarily rerouted through the nearest checkpoints," the Southern Defense Forces added.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, on the night of September 25, Russia attacked Odesa region with 19 Shaheds, 12 Kalibr missiles and two Oniks missiles. The defenders of the sky shot down most of the targets, but there were hits to grain storage facilities, and two people were killed.
