On the last day of 2024, the aggressor country launched a drone and missile attack on Ukraine, including the capital region. On the morning of December 31, after an air raid alert, explosions occurred in Kyiv region and Kyiv, where the debris ofan enemy target fell on the roof of a private building.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, it is possible that in addition to cruise missiles, the enemy used ballistic missiles. The regional military administration and the KCMA noted that air defense forces are operating in the region.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, as a result of a missile strike on Kyiv, debris was recorded falling in the Darnytskyi district of the city. Three private buildings and two cars were damaged. There were no casualties.

"No fire or destruction. No information on casualties has been received. Air raid alert is in effect. Stay in shelters!" said Serhiy Popko, head of the KCMA.

In Kyiv region, rescuers have eliminated the consequences of a Russian missile attack. It is noted that a private residential building was partially destroyed in one of the districts.

At the same time, a private house was damaged due to a nighttime drone attack in the Kyiv region (windows were smashed and the roof was damaged). A woman born in 1975 was injured and diagnosed with concussion and acute stress reaction.

As a reminder, as early as half past eight in the morning, Russian attack drones and simulated drones were circling over the regions of Ukraine. At the same time, there were reports of high-speed targets flying overhead, and later the threat of ballistic missiles being used throughout the country.

Monitoring channels report that the Russian Federation has lifted six Tu-22M3 aircraft into the airspace, launching supersonic Kh-22 missiles from the territory of Tula/Lipetsk regions.

In addition to Kyiv region, explosions were heard within the Shostka district of Sumy region. Previously, the Russians also struck with Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and cruise missiles. A MiG-31K is also reported to have taken off from the Savasleyka airfield in Russia.

The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets reacted to the attack, emphasizing that the aggressor does not stop missile attacks even on the eve of the New Year, thus trying to create additional difficulties for Ukrainians.

"These attacks are part of Russia's regular attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country. The aggressor will definitely be held accountable for each of its crimes!" the Ombudsman emphasized.
