Marines of the 36th Brigade demonstrate preparations for counter-offensive
Ukrainian marines from the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi continue to defend our country from the Russian occupation forces. The online video shows how the soldiers are preparing to repel enemy attacks.
The photo was posted on the brigade's official Facebook page on Monday, May 29. The marines showed how they are training for the upcoming counter-offensive to liberate all the occupied Ukrainian settlements from the invaders.
The soldiers noted that they continue to move forward and do everything for Ukraine's victory over the enemy.
"We are moving forward. We temper our spirit, body and weapons. Every day we do everything for our victory," the statement said.
The footage shows American M113 armoured personnel carriers. Ukraine has more than 400 units of such vehicles of various modifications in service: 200 units were provided directly by the United States, 54 units by Germany, 50 units came from Lithuania, 46 units from the United Kingdom, 28 units from Australia, 20 units from Spain, 15 units from Portugal, plus an undisclosed number from the Netherlands.
The M113 crew consists of two people: a mechanic-driver and a commander, and the armoured personnel carrier can normally carry 11 paratroopers. The M113 armoured personnel carrier version is armed with one 12.7 mm M2HB machine gun. The machine gun is mounted on the commander's turret in a turret mount, which allows it to fire in a circular pattern. The machine gun's ammunition consists of 2,000 rounds of ammunition in 100-round clips.
