Iran unveils new Shahid drone: it will be able to travel 7,000 kilometers

Iran has unveiled an updated version of the drone called Shahid-149 Gaza. In connection with the update, the drone received new functions.

According to the source, the said drone was designed and manufactured by Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industries Corporation. The drone was first officially unveiled in May 2021.

At the moment, data on the technical characteristics of the drone are still unpublished.

However, the developers claim that the drone is able to fly for more than 35 hours and overcome about 7 thousand kilometers in one particular mission. The UAV is expected to be used by the Iranian armed forces for reconnaissance, surveillance and terrain study. Perhaps in the future, when more details are available, the technical specifications will be revealed in more detail.

According to reports, there is information about possible cooperation between the Iranian and Russian authorities in the supply of military weapons such as ammunition and attack drones. There are also reports that Tehran may provide assistance to Moscow in building its own factory for the production of kamikaze UAVs.
