Another high-ranking occupier died in Donetsk region

On Thursday, November 7, it became known that Russian Major General Pavel Klimenko was killed in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. He was the commander of the so-called 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade named after Aleksandr Zaharchenko.

This was reported by the pro-Russian publics. Judging by the occupier's biography, he went through the war in the North Caucasus. But he did not see "victory" in Ukraine.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated a very fat hog – Major General of the Russian Armed Forces Klimenko Pavel Yuryevich. He was the commander of the 5th separate motorized rifle brigade. His death was reported by the pro-Russian Donetsk public VK," the Operational Armed Forces of Ukraine Telegram channel responded to the occupier's death.

Biography of Pavel Klimenko

Pavel Klimenko was born on June 29, 1977. The liquidated occupier was a native of the Stavropol Territory. He graduated from the St. Petersburg Kirov Military Academy (the Combined Arms Academy of the Russian Armed Forces) in 1998.

After graduation, Klimenko was assigned as a platoon commander to a marine regiment of the Black Sea Fleet.

"Shooting, driving, amphibious landing exercises, combat service on a large landing ship, six months in the Mediterranean, strategic exercises in the Baltic. Participant in combat operations in the Caucasus" reads the "glorious" biography of the liquidated occupier.

In particular, he was the commander of a marine company and an airborne assault battalion. It should be noted that the occupier was awarded the title of "Hero of the Donetsk People's Republic". He was awarded many orders and medals.

It should be noted that the occupier received the rank of Major General from the Russian dictator only on May 2, 2024.

What is known about the liquidated occupier

According to the ASTRA Telegram channel, "Important stories" drew attention to the message about his death in the public "Donbas – the Heart of Russia." It is claimed that he died the day before, on November 6.

His wife, Ekaterina Klimenko, confirmed this in a conversation with ASTRA. His sister Irina also left condolences in the comments to the post.

Earlier, ASTRA published a story about the torture of Russian soldiers by the commanders of the 5th and 110th brigades (units 41698 and 42600). According to the interlocutors, the commanders of the 5th Brigade organized a real "concentration camp" on the territory of the abandoned Petrivska mine in Donetsk. It was there that soldiers from the 5th Brigade tortured the American "military commander" Russell Bentley before his death. ASTRA also published the first and only video from the premises of this mine.

Men who refused to fight were also tortured there (and then forced to go on deadly assaults). In particular, the media wrote about the illegally mobilized guitar teacher Vladimir Frolov. The man with a third disability group was sent to the basement of the 5th Brigade for demobilization for health reasons, where he was tortured for refusing to fight and then sent to the assault despite having passed a medical examination. The man died and was buried in a closed coffin. Another purpose of the torture was to extort salaries and payments for injuries from his subordinates.

In the comments to the post about his death, there are dozens of messages from relatives of the deceased soldiers who wrote about beatings, torture, and extortion by Klimenko.
