"He has no more traditional means left": military analyst explains why Russian strike on Dnipro with Oreshnik screams Putin's desperation. Video

Stupak comments on the Russian attack on Dnipro with new missile

The Russian strike on Dnipro with the Oreshnik ballistic missile, which was officially announced by dictator Vladimir Putin, is just an act of desperation. The target of the enemy's attack was Pivdenmash and Pivdenne Design Office, which manufacture Ukrainian missiles.

Ivan Stupak, a military analyst and former SSU officer, said this in an interview with OBOZ.Talk. He noted that Russia had previously attacked these facilities with various weapons - ballistic and missiles, drones - so there was "no longer any intact space left of the ground-based production facilities anyway."

"But they didn't achieve their goals, so the Russians used this big missile to destroy everything that may be underground... Many Ukrainian officials boasted that we have our own program, we have the first hundred ballistic missiles, our own production, and we expect another three thousand units next year. Of course, the Russians could not pass by without reacting and trying to stop our program. And this strike, in my opinion, was once again an act of desperation, because conventional missiles could not reach it," Stupak says.

"I see it (the strike on the Dnipro - Ed.) as desperation. This missile was used not because he is confident. It means that he has no more traditional means left. He has to go somewhere higher, take this big missile out of the warehouse and try to hit a Ukrainian enterprise," he added.

The video of the strike on Dnipro shows the missile disintegrating into separate warheads. However, fortunately, there was no second detonation at the site of the strike, which would indicate that the enemy had achieved its goal.

Stupak also explained what people should do if they panic because of Russia's use of Oreshnik and Putin's threats to do it again. He advised to follow the official reports of the US, UK, and Chinese embassies. If they report a temporary suspension of work, this will indicate that the enemy may indeed be preparing for a new attack.

As a reminder, on November 21, Russia launched cruise missiles from Tu-95MS and an intercontinental ballistic missile along the Dnipro River at Ukraine. The combined massive attack on the city's enterprises and critical infrastructure lasted from 5 to 7 a.m.

Dictator Vladimir Putin said that Russia had hit the Dnipro with an Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile. It was a test, he added.

The Pentagon confirmed that the Russian Oreshnik missile was based on the Rubezh ICBM. Meanwhile, military experts claim that the Russians struck the Dnipro River with the RS-26 Rubezh missile itself. It has a range of up to 6,000 kilometers.

The DIU says that on November 21 Russia probably launched an intercontinental ballistic missile at Dnipro from the Kedr missile system. The flight time from the Astrakhan region to the impact site in the Ukrainian regional center was 15 minutes.
