On Monday, August 19, Germany announced a significant new military aid package for Ukraine. It includes IRIS-T air defense systems and Vector drones.

This was reported by the press service of the German government. Thus, the new assistance includes one IRIS-T SLS air defense system, which will strengthen Ukraine's ability to defend against air threats.

Also, 14,000 rounds of 155 mm ammunition were transferred. Besides, Germany provided 10 unmanned surface ships and 16 Vector reconnaissance drones with spare parts.

In addition, the package includes explosive ordnance disposal materials, six highly mobile demining excavators, and one Bergepanzer 2 armored repair and recovery vehicle with spare parts.

Germany has also donated 55,000 first aid kits, 700 MK 556 assault rifles, 10 HLR 338 high-precision rifles with ammunition, and 50 CR 308 rifles.

As a reminder, German media reported that the German government would no longer provide financial assistance to Ukraine. No new funds will be allocated for military aid. All the aid already pledged (including next year's) will be paid, but no new funds will be allocated.

Later, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called the news that the German government had suspended new military aid incorrect and manipulative. The level of support next year will be known only after the budget is approved, which is expected in November.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the G7 countries agreed to allocate $50 billion from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine's defense, economy, and recovery. The money will be available closer to 2025.
