The Russian occupiers' units continue to be located near the border with Sumy region, but the size of this group is not enough to launch full-scale hostilities, as is the case in Kharkiv region. In any case, the Defense Forces are prepared for various scenarios.

Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said this on the air of the national telethon. He reminded that the state border in Sumy region is 560 kilometers long. And it cannot be ruled out that the enemy continues to build up troops along it.

"We must be prepared for any situation," emphasized Demchenko.

According to him, there is a possibility that the Russian Federation plans to implement a scenario similar to the Kharkiv one in Sumy region to stretch the Defense Forces of our country, including in this area.

"Fortunately, what we are recording is that even despite the forces the enemy has now, they are not enough to achieve such a strategic goal," Demchenko said.

At the same time, the enemy's grouping may be enough to "sow panic, stretch our forces and prevent them from being redeployed to other areas."

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artyukh, said that the Russian invaders currently have no strike groups to launch an offensive in Sumy region. However, the Sumy Oblast Defense Forces are "ready for any challenge."

- The head of the Sumy City Military Administration, Oleksiy Drozdenko, said that the occupation of Sumy by Russians is currently impossible, despite the fact that the enemy does not abandon such plans. Ukraine has enough troops and fortifications to prevent such a scenario.
