China reacts to statements about DPRK soldiers in Russia and again calls the war in Ukraine a "crisis"

DPRK troops

China has evasively stated that it is unaware of North Korean troops in Russia for potential participation in the war against Ukraine. Beijing reiterated that it supports a "political solution" to the situation.

The statement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, answering questions at a daily press conference. This was reported by Reuters.

"The Chinese side is not aware of the situation," the diplomat said, referring to the deployment of DPRK troops.

Lin Jian called the full-scale unprovoked war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine the "Ukrainian crisis."

"China's position on the Ukrainian crisis has been consistent and clear, and we hope that all parties will contribute to de-escalating the situation and commit to a political solution," the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said.

As a reminder, on October 23, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that Washington had "evidence of the presence of DPRK troops in Russia."

North Atlantic Alliance spokeswoman Farah Dakhlallah also confirmed that NATO has evidence of this.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, North Korean troops may be sent to the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. The Financial Times suggests that Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin is betting that DPRK forces will take back part of the region, which is currently controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
