Border guards planted a Ukrainian flag over the Russian position near Bakhmut. Video

Soldiers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, who are defending the country in the Bakhmut sector, have planted a blue and yellow flag over an enemy position. Our symbol appeared on a water tower between the villages of Kurdyumivka and Ozoryanivka.

The SBGSU press service posted a touching video on Facebook on April 1. Our heroes carried out the operation using a UAV.

The occupiers were surprised by the aerial reconnaissance men of the "Revenge" brigade of the Offensive Guard.

The head of intelligence of the "Phoenix" unit, nicknamed "Pan", said that the commander gave this task after he saw a similar video on the Internet.

"Since we are aerial reconnaissance, strike and reconnaissance UAVs, we decided that the easiest way to do this would be with UAVs. We prepared, inspected the entire area... We decided to use the water tower between Kurdyumivka and Ozoryanivka," the soldier recalled.

The heroes decided to use a "big bird" - a Ukrainian Vampire drone. It was covered by small Mavic drones, which made dumps so that the invaders would be distracted by the "bavovna" and not try to shoot down the big drone.

The border guards were preparing for about two days. "Pan" thinks it's a long time by the standards of his group. "We practiced at the training ground. We decided to take a flagpole with a magnet so that the flag would not hang, but would stand beautifully, like our national symbol," said the Ukrainian defender.

About 15 meters from the water tower, Russian invaders are hiding in one of the basements, Pan added.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Institute for the Study of War said that Russian troops managed to make some progress west of Bakhmut and in the Avdiivka sector. The enemy also had some success near Donetsk.
