Attacked by drones: the occupiers destroyed the Shukhevych Museum in Lviv and damaged the university in Dublin where Bandera studied.

"Shakedowns" damaged a museum and university in Lviv region

In Lviv, as a result of a Russian attack by kamikaze drones, a fire broke out in the morning of January 1 in the museum of UPA Commander-in-Chief Roman Shukhevych. At the same time, the building of the university where UPA leader Stepan Bandera studied caught fire near the regional center.

Preliminarily, no people were injured, but historical buildings were damaged. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, on his Telegram channel, as well as by Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, who posted a photo.

"Last night, the enemy hit two sites of national memory: the university in Dubliany, where Stepan Bandera studied 100 years ago, and the Roman Shukhevych Museum in Bilohirsh. Symbolic and cynical. A war for our history," the mayor said.

The memorial museum is located in the Zaliznychnyi district of Lviv, in the house where Roman Shukhevych, the general of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, was killed.

At about 05:37, the head of the JFO said that a powerful fire had broken out there, preliminarily from the fall of the wreckage of an enemy drone. The SES quickly arrived at the scene.

The official also added that it was loud in the city again at this time. He urged citizens to stay in shelters as the danger is still high.

Later, Kozitsky added that the fall of Shahed wreckage was also recorded in the city of Dubliany near Lviv. The roof of a university building caught fire there.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said that the fire was extinguished and there were no casualties.

"On the birthday of Stepan Bandera (UPA leader, born January 1, 1909 - Ed.), Muscovites completely destroyed the museum of UPA General Roman Shukhevych in Bilohirsh," the mayor of Lviv emphasized.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the destruction and ignition of two historic buildings in Lviv and Dubliany were caused by the fall of drone debris.

As of 08:00, SES units continued to work at the sites of the hits. The fire in the museum and university was extinguished.

"According to preliminary data, there are no casualties or injuries," the agency said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, during a massive attack on Ukraine on December 29, Russia launched several missile strikes on Lviv, damaging 18 high-rise buildings and other buildings. The war crime killed a man and injured at least 30 people. During the night and morning of that day, the aggressor sent 14 drones and 15 missiles at the city.
