Petro Shuklinov, a military officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, wrote about this on his Facebook page. He noted that it was with the help of these boats that the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed two Russian "Pantsirs" and an "Osa" in the deep rear of the occupiers near Skadovsk on January 5, 2025. However, there is currently no official confirmation of this information.

According to the military, according to open data, the occupiers' equipment was destroyed by drones launched from unmanned naval boats.

"That is, a new model of aircraft carrier has been added to the function of kamikaze boats and air defense boats. I congratulate all those involved in the development, implementation, and special operation near Skadovsk. I bow low. Sincere admiration. Unlimited respect," Shuklinov wrote in his message.

He also emphasized that, in his opinion, this significantly changes the prospects for the use of drones against Russians in the occupied territories. And in general, the logic of warfare at sea and on land.

The day before, on January 5, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, also announced that the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had begun using drones with a fiber-optic control channel at the front.

As a reminder, the Russians have started using fiber-optic drones at the Pokrovsk and Kupiansk directions. Earlier, the Russian military practiced this type of drone control in the Kursk region.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with a Ukrainian manufacturer, has begun testing a new control center for units equipped with UAVs. This control center is a new project of the Ministry's Defense Innovation Department.
