19 aircraft in total: Mette Frederiksen explains when Denmark will hand over two more batches of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine

The next batch of F-16 to be delivered to Ukraine by the end of the year

Denmark has already handed over the first batch of six F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine out of a planned 19. The next batch is expected to be delivered to Ukraine by the end of 2024.

The Danish Prime Minister has not yet disclosed the exact number of jets that this delivery will include. She said this during a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Our plans for the F-16 have not changed. The number is the same as it has always been. 6 have already been delivered - this is the first batch. We have been training pilots since August last year. Then there will be another batch, and another. This makes 19 aircraft in total," Frederiksen said.

It is worth noting that on November 19, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen arrived in Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The main topic of the talks was the strengthening of defense cooperation between the two countries and the provision of a new aid package for Ukraine.

Mette Frederiksen announced that Denmark would allocate 130 million euros for the Ukrainian defense industry.

These funds will be used to finance the production of key weapons, including Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems (SAU).

As reported, at the summit in Budapest on November 7, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Europe should support Ukraine more and that she agrees with recently elected US President Donald Trump on this issue.
