On July 29, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the forward command post of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Vovchansk in the northern part of the Kharkiv region. The Head of State congratulated the defenders on their professional holiday and presented state awards.

Zelenskyy posted the video on his official Telegram channel. "Kharkiv direction. Forward command post of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The area of Vovchansk," the post reads.

The President added that he was honored "to be here on this important day for our country" to congratulate the defenders on the Day of Special Operations Forces and to honor them with state awards.

"I want to thank you for your courage, for everything you do, you, your brothers and sisters in arms, and wish you and your families health. I wish you the least possible losses and the most just peace for Ukraine, and, of course, victories. Thank you for your bravery, for your heroic operations both behind enemy lines and during the defense and de-occupation of our cities and villages. Please take care of yourselves," Zelenskyy told the soldiers of the Special Forces.

He also noted that the Kharkiv direction, where special forces are defending the country, is one of the most difficult.

"The whole country is counting on you, we will win. Glory to Ukraine," he said.

As OBOZ.UA reported, on July 29, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the newest and most elite branches of the Ukrainian army. The Special Forces often carry out the most difficult and dangerous missions on the front line. Most of the Steel Wolves' operations are classified and may be made public only after the war is over.
