"We ran out in what we were wearing": new photos of the aftermath of the Russian attack on Odesa and the story of a local have appeared

On New Year's Eve, Russian troops attacked Odesa with kamikaze drones. A residential high-rise building was hit, a teenager was killed and three other people were injured.

Footage of the building hit by the Shahed drone was posted online. Local journalists also published a story by a resident of the building, who described her experience.

The video shows the damaged apartment building both from the outside and the inside.

Windows were blown out of the building, and there was a crater on the roof from an enemy drone. The apartments in the video show significant damage. One of them burned to the ground: A 32-year-old woman with 20% first- and second-degree burns was taken to the hospital.

One of the residents of the house damaged by the attack told about her experience. When the first explosion occurred, she and her young son were in the corridor of their apartment. After that, the woman and the child ran downstairs.

"We were standing near the door in the corridor, thank God. We were standing there and my son was saying, 'Thank God, we're not going to die'... My knees were trembling very much... And then, you know, the dust rose in the apartment and there was a red flash. We started running out in what we were wearing, we went downstairs... And the woman whose son was killed, she was screaming a lot... Everything was covered in blood... And then explosions, explosions," the woman from Odesa said with tears in her eyes, clutching her son to her.

As a reminder, Russia launched 90 Shahed drones at Ukraine on New Year's Eve. Air Defense Forces shot down 87 drones. The hits and falling debris caused destruction and casualties. For example, the occupiers destroyed the Shukhevych Museum in Lviv and damaged the university in Dubliany, where Bandera studied.

A child was also injured in the Khmelnytskyi region.
