President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with CEOs and top managers of leading Western defense companies at the second International Defense Industries Forum. The main topic of the conversation was the expansion of cooperation to strengthen the production capabilities of Ukraine's defense sector.

The Head of State thanked the countries that support us during the war with Russia, as well as the companies that have already started working in Ukraine, and emphasized that Ukraine counts on further support and cooperation even after the war is over. Details were reported on the official website of the President of Ukraine.

Within the framework of the International Defense Industries Forum (DFNC2), Zelenskyy met with CEOs and top managers of defense companies from partner countries.

In particular, the meeting was attended by representatives of BAE Systems, KNDS, MBDA, D&M Holding Company, Amentum Services, Inc., AeroVironment, Inc., Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, Romarm, CZ Colt Group, Quantum Systems, Hellenic Defense Systems, DI Danish Defense & Security Industries Association.

Zelenskyy began the meeting by thanking the countries represented by the participants of the conversation, as well as the teams of enterprises for their support of Ukrainians. At the same time, the President also thanked those Western defense companies that not only plan to cooperate with Ukraine but have already started working in our country and opened their representative offices here.

"We are very glad to see you in Ukraine. We expect more support because, unfortunately, the war has not stopped. And we are grateful for everything we can do together today and in the future. We look forward to our partnership not only during the war," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The main topic of the conversation was predictably the expansion of cooperation to strengthen the production capabilities of Ukraine's defense sector.

According to the President, Ukrainian defense production has now significantly increased compared to the level at the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion. However, for further growth, Ukrainian defense companies need foreign experience and access to supply chains and technology.

The Defense Industries Forum is intended to help with these issues. According to the Head of State, the first meeting brought important results, in particular, regarding the maintenance of light guns, localization of assault rifle production, and the creation of facilities for the production of ammunition for small arms.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy also presented state awards to representatives of foreign defense companies for their contribution to the development of Ukraine's defense industry and the creation of high-tech products under martial law.

The day before, Zelenskyy spoke at the International Defense Industries Forum. The key message of his speech was that Ukraine has to become a strong player in the global arms market. He emphasized that while a few years ago the Ukrainian defense industry looked helpless, now Ukraine can be proud of the industry.
