Ukrainian Air Defence Forces shoot down six Kinzhal, six Kalibr and two drones during new Russian attack on Ukraine

Ukraine's air defence forces repelled a massive Russian air attack on the afternoon of June 16. In the skies over different regions, 12 missiles and two drones were destroyed.
Among the neutralised enemy targets were the "Kinzhals" praised by the occupiers. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to preliminary data from the military, during the daytime attack on Friday, the following were destroyed:
- six Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles
- six Kalibr cruise missiles;
- two reconnaissance UAVs.
"We hold the sky! Together to victory!" - said the defenders.
As a reminder, at around 10:50 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russian occupiers had launched Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea. The threat of attacks spread first to the northern regions, and then to the centre, east and west. An air raid alert was issued across Ukraine, and explosions were heard in the capital at around 11:45am.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that it was in the Podil district, and the Kyiv City Military Administration added that air defence forces were protecting the sky. Earlier, it was in the airspace around Kyiv that the air defence forces and means successfully detected and destroyed the 12 missiles and two reconnaissance drones of the occupiers.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, on the night of June 16, Ukrainian air defence units shot down two Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 drones. Russia wanted to attack the southern regions with these attack drones.
