Ukraine will create a testing ground for military technologies using AI: what is known

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is planning to create a test site for testing the latest demining technologies, including those using artificial intelligence. The test site will become a platform for research, training, and innovation.

This was discussed at a meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Economy, the State Emergency Service, the United Nations, and other partners. The project aims to increase the effectiveness of humanitarian demining, speed up the survey of territories, and reduce risks for deminers and civilians.

"The training ground, which is at the disposal of the Ministry of Defense, can become a unique platform for joint research, testing, and training," said Colonel Olha Drobot, a representative of the National Mine Action Authority's secretariat.

The training ground will test new approaches to analyzing satellite and aerial imagery, as well as integrate neural networks to automatically recognize minefields. This will help clear the area of explosive hazards faster and more safely.

The Ministry of Defense has called on international partners to join the initiative, which could become a unique platform for research, training, and experience exchange.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have launched a new project called the Drone Line. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov called it revolutionary and hopes that it will "radically strengthen our brigades and scale up the experience of effective destruction of the enemy."
