Ukraine needs additional help right now: Sandu on Russian shelling of Odesa

Sandu reacts to Russian shelling of Odesa

Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that the Russian attack on Odesa is evidence of Ukraine's urgent need for help. According to her, every day matters.

This is how the head of the republic commented on the drone strike on Odesa on March 2. Sandu noted that it is about people's lives.

"Another Russian drone attack in Odesa has claimed lives, serving as a stark reminder that Ukraine urgently needs more help. Every day counts, and delaying aid puts even more innocent lives at stake," Sandu said.

On the night of March 2, Russian war criminals attacked Odesa with drones. One of them hit a multi-storey residential building, destroying part of the entrance with 18 apartments.

So far, it is known that at least eight people were killed. One entrance was completely destroyed. Sunday, March 3, was declared a day of mourning in the city.

Rescuers are still searching for people under the rubble. Flowers, candles and toys were brought to the scene of the tragedy.

In his traditional evening address on March 2, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the delay in the supply of weapons and air defense systems to protect Ukrainians leads to tragedies like the one in Odesa on March 2.
