U.S. Ambassador Brink discusses importance of supporting Ukraine with Republican leader and senators: what they agreed on

Bridget Brink met with members of the Republican Party

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink met with Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and other senators. During the meeting, Brink discussed with the officials the strategic importance of continued support for Ukraine.

The ambassador reported this on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. Brink did not elaborate on the results of the meeting with the senators.

"It was an honor to meet with Mitch McConnell, other Senators and Senate staff yesterday to discuss the strategic importance of continued support for Ukraine for the United States," Brink said.

It is worth noting that Mitch McConnell continues to support the swift approval of aid for Ukraine, while other members of the Republican Party suggest that Congress should first consider separate support for Israel.

Earlier, it was reported that US President Joe Biden would veto a bill on an aid package for Israel alone, without funding for Ukraine, which was proposed by Republicans in the House of Representatives. The White House believes that this project is "bad for Israel, the Middle East, and US national security."

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Biden requested $106 billion from the US Congress for additional funding for Ukraine and Israel. 61 billion of them are planned to be used for the defense of Ukraine, and the rest is to be distributed between Israel, the Indo-Pacific region and the Border Guard Service.
