Two "Daggers" among the downed missiles: new details of Russia's massive attack on Kyiv

Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized about three dozen missiles over Kyiv and on the approach to the city that Russian troops had used to attack the region. Among them were ballistic "Kinzhals".

This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko. He described the consequences of the falling debris in the capital.

"After a pause of 44 days, the enemy launched another missile attack on Kyiv: they used X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers and ballistic missiles from the territory of the Russian Federation. The air alert in the capital lasted almost three hours," the official said.

According to him, after complicated maneuvers in adjacent regions, the missiles were fired at the capital simultaneously from different directions. The air defense forces and means hit about three dozen enemy targets, including ballistic missiles, over Kyiv and in the vicinity of the capital.

The Ukrainian Air Force clarified that during this attack, the defenders of the sky shot down all the missiles: two Iskander-M (KN-23)/Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles, as well as 29 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles.

The falling debris damaged houses in Shevchenkivskyi district, a kindergarten, and a high-rise building in Sviatoshynskyi district, and cars were on fire in both locations. In Podilskyi district, the debris fell on the territory of non-residential buildings and the roof of a residential building, which then caught fire, and the roof of another non-residential two-story building was also on fire. All emergency services were working on the spot to eliminate the consequences of the missile attack.

According to the updated data, 13 people were injured, including one child. Some of the injured were treated on the spot.

Fortunately, no one was killed in the attack. Information on the consequences of the attack is still being clarified and updated. Local authorities once again urged Kyiv residents and visitors not to ignore air raid warnings and to always follow safety precautions.

"The bitter experience of Odesa and Mykolaiv proves that the enemy can launch repeated missile strikes during the aftermath. And do not forget to support and help the soldiers of the Defense Forces. They need your support and a reliable rear. Our victory depends on each of us!" said the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

We would like to add that damage to houses and cars was also recorded in the districts of Kyiv region, where four people were injured as a result of the attack.
