The North Korean military is already in the Kursk region but has not yet taken part in hostilities. However, this is a matter of the near future. They will all die, or at best be captured.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with South Korean TV channel KBS. According to him, Russia will send the military from the DPRK into battle in the coming days.

"They are already in the Kursk region. There have been no military clashes yet. But they will be. It's a matter of days, not months. They will use these troops, of course, these people will die," Zelenskyy said.

The President noted that Russia will try to send North Korean soldiers into battle first and foremost to protect its own. Therefore, the fate of the DPRK military in the war with Ukraine is death.

"Of course, they (Russians – Ed.) will try to do everything to ensure that more North Korean soldiers die, they will push them forward, more of them than Russians. Therefore, we will see these victims with you," the head of state said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that he is waiting for those Koreans who will be captured by the Ukrainian military. He emphasized that in this case, they will save their lives. And Ukraine will use them as an exchange fund.

"We have one format, we treat prisoners of any nationality as prisoners of war, and we need to save their lives, respect international law, and not torture prisoners. I emphasize this on purpose because compared to the Russian army, which tortured our captured guys, we do not do this. The most important thing for us is to increase the exchange fund. Therefore, we will be primarily ready to exchange North Korean soldiers for Ukrainian prisoners of war," Zelenskyy said.

The President emphasized that Ukraine is interested in taking prisoners of war from the DPRK for exchange. But this is a war, and the Ukrainian army will do with North Korean mercenaries what it does with the enemy – destroy them.

"First of all, if it is possible to take them prisoner, we will take them prisoner. After all, the most important thing for us is to return our prisoners. Therefore, if our military can take alive Koreans from the DPRK, I will certainly be grateful to them as president, because we will be able to return more of our prisoners. And the second thing is what you do with the enemy. Protecting your life by destroying the enemy is the rule of this war," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Zelenskyy blamed his partners for the lack of reaction to the DPRK's participation in the war with Ukraine. According to him, Putin is testing the West's reaction to his actions, and if it is the same as during the seizure of Crimea, the aggressor will go further, increasing the North Korean contingent.
