"They are stoking the fire": Erdogan says war in Ukraine benefits only "Western warlords"
Turkish President Recep Erdogan has said that the Russian-Ukrainian war is only beneficial to "Western warlords." According to him, it is the representatives of the West who continue to "fuel the fire".
He added that Turkey is working "to establish peace and stability." This was reported by the Anadolu Agency.
The Turkish head of state said that today the West is allegedly doing everything possible to keep the war in Ukraine going.
"No one has benefited from this bloody massacre, except for the Western warlords. They continue to pour gasoline on the fire and do their best to stoke the flames. We are working to establish peace and stability," Erdogan said.
He also said that Turkey has been fighting for peace and stability since the first day of the war in Ukraine. Erdogan said that Turkey helped prevent the conflict from spreading to the Black Sea.
"We have always done this from day one, we have been fighting for this. We have prevented this fire from spreading to the Black Sea by following a balanced policy and acting fairly towards our two neighbors," the Turkish president said.
As a reminder, during a meeting in the Kazakh capital Astana with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the Turkish president said that a just peace in the Russian war against Ukraine was possible, which could satisfy both sides. The Turkish leader also once again offered his country's mediation in negotiations to achieve such a peace.
Earlier, Turkey said that Europe should be more concerned about the war in Ukraine than it is about finding ways to negotiate between Kyiv and the Kremlin. Against this background, they hope that 2025 will be a peaceful year for Ukrainians.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the summit of the Ukrainian "peace formula" because Russian representatives were not invited. He called for avoiding any steps that could intensify the war.
