"There is a continuous supply line there." Budanov assesses what will be harder to return – Crimea or Donbas

Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov suggested that it will be more difficult for Ukraine to drive the occupiers out of Donbas than from the territory of Crimea, which was temporarily occupied by the enemy. He explained that the army of the aggressor country Russia had established continuous supply lines to the east of our country.

The head of the Ukrainian intelligence shared his opinion in an interview with the French edition of Liberation. The journalist asked him: "Which part of the Ukrainian territory will be more difficult to return: Crimea or Donbas?"

"I think Donbas... Because there is a continuous supply line there, their troops can access it from any direction," Budanov replied.

He added that all those who once owned the Crimean peninsula "loudly declared" that it was an "impregnable fortress".

"And absolutely everyone lost this fortress, just like Ukraine did ten years ago. Today, the Russians still have a land corridor to Crimea. The Crimean bridge is still standing, but this bridge will not live long. Two strategic tasks need to be solved: to cut the land corridor and to destroy the Crimean bridge. What will happen next is only a matter of time. The peninsula will be returned. The situation with Donbas is more complicated," the MID chief said.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported:

– Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksii Neizhpapa is confident that the so-called Crimean bridge, illegally built by the Russian occupiers across the Kerch Strait, will not exist. In his opinion, this strategic object for Russia may not survive until the end of 2024.

– Neizhpapa also said that Ukraine could have won the war faster if it had received permission to strike at Russian territory with weapons received from the West.
