The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated almost two hundred occupants and destroyed enemy equipment: Cherevaty tells about battles in two directions
The Ukrainian Armed Forces dislodged nearly two hundred occupants and destroyed enemy equipment in the Lyman and Kupyansk sectors. A total of six combat engagements took place there over the last day.
This statement was made by the spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhiy Cherevaty. He said this on Channel 24.
"Two Russian infantry fighting vehicles, three mortars, and two anti-tank missile systems were destroyed in the Lyman and Kupyansk sectors. Six combat engagements took place there over the last day. The enemy also carried out six air raids," said Cherevaty.
He stressed that Ukrainian defenders repelled all the attacks of the Russian occupants. As a result, 72 invaders were killed and 109 were wounded.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed two infantry fighting vehicles, three mortars, two anti-tank missile systems, an anti-tank gun "Rapira", two drones, 10 enemy vehicles and two field ammunition depots.
"The enemy used artillery 612 times in this section of the frontline over the last day," said a spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
It should be noted that the Ukrainian Defence Forces conducted a series of counter-offensive operations with varying results in at least three frontline areas on Sunday, June 4. The defenders also launched a limited but still significant attack in the western part of Zaporizhzhia region on the night of 7-8 June.
As OBOZREVATEL reported, the day before, the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that they had driven the enemy back from 1.8 km of the front line in the Bakhmut direction. The defenders also advanced 1.2 km in depth, and Russian forces suffered heavy losses.
