Russian occupation forces tried to seize Nestryga Island again, which Ukrainian defenders have recently returned to Ukrainian control. The enemy also attacked the southern direction nine times.

This was reported by Dmytro Pletenchuk, head of the Center for Strategic Communications of the Southern Defense Forces, during an all-Ukrainian telethon. According to him, the occupants are trying to increase pressure in the area of Staromayorske.

There, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders three times, losing four tanks. The situation in Robotyn also remains difficult.

"The enemy attacked Krynky twice and tried to seize Nestryga Island again," said Pletenchuk.

He added that attacks on Krynky and the islands have been ongoing since the beginning of the day and noted that this morning the Russians have already dropped 6 UAVs.

At the same time, the head of the Center for Strategic Communications of the Southern Defense Forces noted that no significant changes in the nature of the enemy's actions were detected, as well as signs of the creation of offensive groups.

On April 27, it became known that the Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to recapture the island of Nestryga in the Kherson region. It is located on the Dnipro River southwest of Kherson, between the settlements of Veletynske and Stara Zburyivka (the latter is temporarily occupied by Russian troops).
