The occupiers hit Izyum with ballistic missiles: five people were killed and more than 50 wounded. Photos and videos

At about 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, the troops of the aggressor country Russia launched a ballistic missile attack on Izyum in Kharkiv region, causing an explosion in the city. The city council building was destroyed and residential high-rise buildings were damaged. Five people were killed and 55 injured, including three children.

The first details of the attack were reported by the regional and city military administrations. The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the aggressor struck the center of Izyum.

All emergency services are working at the scene, the official said.

"Enemy attack on Izyum. According to preliminary data, the occupiers used a ballistic missile. Four people were killed," the statement said.

As of 12:00, Syniehubov reported 17 wounded, five of whom were hospitalized.

However, as of 12:09 p.m., the number of wounded increased to 20.

The head of Izyum MVA, Valerii Marchenko, told Suspilne TV that there is a lot of damage in the city. According to him, Russia struck at about 11:35.

As of 12:22, Synieubov reported that one more person is under the rubble.

The aftermath is ongoing. Administrative buildings have been partially destroyed, and a five-story residential building has been damaged.

Rescuers, emergency medical care, and a dog service are working, the head of the OVA said.

As of 12:41, Syniehubov informed that the occupants hit the administrative building. Another administrative building nearby was damaged, as well as residential multi-storey buildings.

"There is no military facility in this place," said the head of Kharkiv region.

As of 12:48, 24 people have been hospitalized in Izyum, including a 15-year-old girl who received a shrapnel wound. The child is in moderate condition.

Three more people are in the operating room, and doctors are providing all the necessary assistance, Syniehubov said.

According to him, the victims were civilians, two women and two men.

As of 13:16, the death toll has risen to five.

"Rescuers have unblocked another body. The person is being identified," said the head of the Regional Military Administration.

According to Marchenko, the administrative buildings where the tax, social security, and treasury departments worked were hit.

"Civilians were killed, apparently they were near the passport office. Five of the wounded are hospitalized in moderate condition, the rest have light injuries. The previous attack on the city was more than three months ago," Marchenko told reporters.

At 14:11, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that search and rescue operations in Izyum were completed.

The number of victims has increased to 34, including three children. Five people are dead.

As of 14:49, more than 40 people have sought medical assistance, 24 people have been hospitalized, three of them in serious condition.

The victims include a six-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. They are in moderate condition.

170 apartments damaged, windows smashed.

"We are promptly sewing up windows and doors, as well as making rounds of apartments and houses. Specialized services have already started eliminating the consequences," said Syniehubov.

According to him, there are no people under the rubble.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at 3 p.m., 43 people were reported injured, including three children. Five people were killed.

A 44-year-old and 69-year-old men, two women, and another man were killed in the missile strike, preliminarily an Iskander type, their identities are being established, Syniehubov said at 15:30.

Fifty people were injured, including three children. The administrative building of the Izyum City Council was partially destroyed, and the administrative building and window glazing of three residential apartment buildings were damaged.

Most of the victims are employees of the tax office, the Service for Children, the State Executive Service, a medical college, and other institutions, the official said.

As of 15:52, the number of victims has increased to 55. Among them are a boy of six, girls of 14 and 16 years old. The 14-year-old girl is in serious condition. The boy and the 16-year-old girl are in average condition.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the Russian attack on Izyum. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and called on the world to continue to put pressure on the aggressor country.

And the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, pointed out that Russia is fighting civilians, violating the laws of war.

"Russia is waging a war against the civilian population of Ukraine, violating all the laws and customs of war. How many more Ukrainians will die at the hands of the Russians? The enemy must be stopped immediately!" he wrote on his official Telegram channel.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on the night of February 4, Russia attacked Ukraine with 65 Shaheds and imitation drones of various types. The Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 37 attack drones, while the rest of the imitation targets were also neutralized.

The falling debris caused damage in Cherkasy and Sumy regions. In Cherkasy, fires broke out on the territory of three enterprises, fortunately, there were no casualties.
