The occupants wanted to seize AFU strongholds in Maryinka, but retreated with losses

The enemy storms the positions of Ukrainian soldiers in Maryinka

Russian invaders made repeated attempts the day before to seize platoon strongholds of Ukrainian soldiers in Avdiivka and Maryinka directions, numerous and fierce attacks of enemy assault groups were recorded primarily in Maryinka.

Ukrainian soldiers repelled all the assaults, did not give the enemy a single meter, as well as thinned the units of the Russian Armed Forces, killing or wounding more than 120 invaders. This was reported by the spokesman of the Joint Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavricheskiy direction, Valery Shershen.

Offensive groups of Russian invaders in the Maryinka and Avdiivka directions carried out 14 attacks on the strongholds of Ukrainian soldiers. The clashes with the enemy were particularly intense in Maryinka.

However, all the attacks proved fruitless: the Ukrainian soldiers repelled the enemy assaults.

"There are no losses of our positions. Our defenders reliably hold the lines and repelled 14 enemy attacks," Shershen emphasized.

On the Tauride direction, unsuccessful assault actions resulted in losses for the enemy. The occupation army lost 124 invaders killed and wounded. Eight enemy vehicles were destroyed or seriously damaged. Also, the enemy had three fewer ammunition depots.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the invaders maintain an active defense, particularly in the areas of Novopavlivka and Orikhove.

"In anticipation of offensive actions on the part of the AFU, the enemy directs its main efforts to support the units in constant combat readiness, continues to fortify lines and positions, installs mine blast obstacles," Shershen summarized.

Recall, the day before in the Eastern grouping of troops said that the AFU advanced by 350-400 m during counterattacks near Bakhmut.

In addition, 54 occupants were eliminated and 84 were wounded. They destroyed Grad MLRS, three cannons, three UAVs, a 2C4 Tulpan self-propelled mortar, and two field ammunition depots.

Now, the Ukrainian Armed Forces note, there has been a decrease in enemy activity in the Bakhmut direction. This may be due to certain rotation processes of enemy units, as well as to the heavy losses suffered by the invaders during the months-long storming of Bakhmut.

It was also reported that the day before, on May 27, the AFU eliminated another 400 occupants and destroyed 11 enemy artillery systems. In total, since the beginning of the war, the defenders have "demilitarized" already 206,600 Russian invaders.
