"The fight for freedom and the future of our children continues." Zaluzhnyi congratulated the military on the New Year.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi has congratulated Ukrainian soldiers on the upcoming New Year. The commander thanked the soldiers who are defending the country at the front and emphasized that 2024 will not be an easy year.
On his official Telegram channel, the Chief of Defense reminded that the fight for freedom and the future of our children continues, and also showed an appeal from the soldiers of the Defense Forces. The heroes note that, just like last year, they are celebrating the holiday on the front line.
"In the trenches, in trenches, in dugouts. Not to lose vigilance, to be ready to take a hit and return the favor. In this sense, New Year's Eve is no different from the other 676 nights since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and eight years before. Think about this number, remember what we have been through and the price we have paid," the military said.
The heroes noted that their people, homes, our sea and our mountains are waiting for them. "There is a lot of work ahead. We have different tasks, but one goal is to win," the soldiers said.
They added that 2024 will make Ukraine stronger and bring our victory closer.
Zaluzhnyi, for his part, emphasized that 2023 was another extremely difficult year of our struggle for our land and freedom. It was a year when Ukraine survived thanks to Ukrainian soldiers and sailors, sergeants and officers.
"I thank our military for their resilience and dedication to the great cause of defending Ukraine. I bow my head to the Ukrainian soldiers who died fighting for their homeland. They are forever in our hearts. The year 2024 will not be easy. The struggle for freedom and the future of our children continues. I believe that we will pass all the trials with dignity and continue to bring our victory closer step by step!" the military leader said.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded almost 700 defenders of the state with state awards. He expressed his gratitude to them and declared his pride in the fact that such people are defending Ukraine.
