The Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of possible provocations at ZNPP: what is it about

Ukrainian Armed Forces warn of possible provocations at ZNPP

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have officially reported that provocations may be prepared on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in the near future. The plant has been under the control of Russian terrorist groups since 4 March 2022.

This is stated in a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready to act under any circumstances.

"According to operational information, today foreign objects similar to explosive devices were placed on the outer roof of the third and fourth power units of ZNPP. Their detonation should not damage the power units, but may create an image of shelling from Ukraine. This is what the Russian media and telegram channels are misinforming about," the Armed Forces General Staff said in a statement.

It is noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine strictly adhere to the norms of international humanitarian law, monitor and control the situation on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and are ready to act adequately under any circumstances.

"Not a single enemy provocation will succeed," the General Staff said.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, a week ago, Ukrainian intelligence warned that the Russian occupation contingent was gradually leaving the territory of the Enerhodar NPP. The invaders ordered the staff who remained there to blame Ukraine in case of emergencies.

The president of Energoatom, Petro Kotin, said that Ukraine could learn about the explosion of the ZNPP a few hours after the disaster. This is because the state currently has no direct access to radiation monitoring at the plant.
