Syrskyi makes his first statement as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, explaining current tasks and priorities

Syrskyi made a statement

The newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, made his first statement. He outlined the main tasks facing the Ukrainian army today.

Syrskyi also stated that the lives and health of Ukrainian soldiers were and remain the main value. The statement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was published on the Facebook page of the General Staff.

Syrskyi began his address by thanking the soldiers of the Land Forces he commanded and the defenders who are fighting the occupiers in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops.

"Thank you for everyday military work spent together in the most difficult areas of the frontline of our liberation war! Your courage, professionalism, dedication to the defense of the Motherland and perseverance in performing combat missions are the foundation of the stability of our defense and do not allow the enemy to realize its aggressive intentions. I sincerely thank every soldier, sergeant, officer and general for the joint implementation of operational plans, which allowed us to save the lives of thousands of civilians and save the territory of Ukraine from occupation!" he said.

The new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also outlined the key tasks facing the Ukrainian army and its command.

"First of all, it is a clear and detailed planning of actions of all military command and control bodies, associations, formations and units, taking into account the needs of the frontline for the latest weapons supplied by international partners. The fastest and most rational distribution and delivery of everything necessary for combat units has been and remains the main task of military logistics," Syrskyi emphasized.

He set a task for the staffs of all levels to "know all the needs of the frontline without exception and to be aware of the situation in each of its areas."

"It is the qualification of the personnel of military command and control bodies that is crucial for the development and successful implementation of ideas and plans," Syrskyi said.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, preserving the lives and health of servicemen has always been a key value of the Ukrainian army. Syrskyi explained how this value will be realized during his command of the Armed Forces.

"Maintaining a balance between performing combat missions and restoring units and subunits with intensified training and education of personnel remains more important than ever. The introduction of new technical solutions and scaling up of successful experience, such as the use of unmanned systems and modern electronic warfare, is one of the future vectors of building victory in our liberation war. Only changes and continuous improvement of means and methods of warfare will allow us to succeed on this path," he emphasized.

According to Syrskyi, "a reliable rear is equally important for achieving victory in the war."

"I am grateful to the former leaders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to the veterans who have made every effort to restore and build the capabilities of the Ukrainian army, a real, solid foundation of our statehood, over the 10 years of the Russian-Ukrainian war!" the newly appointed chief summarized.

Later,  it became known that the new Commander-in-Chief was introduced at the General Staff by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

"I also thanked General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, who was present during this event, for his leadership in a difficult time and the work he has done. As the Minister of Defense, I guarantee all possible support for the actions and decisions of the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Defense is in good hands. To Victory," the head of the defense ministry said
