For the massive attack on Ukraine on May 8, the aggressor country Russia used a modernized X-101 missile with a dual warhead. It was manufactured in the second quarter of 2024, which means that the Russians took this missile to strike our country literally off the assembly line.

This was reported by the Ukrainian military portal Defence Express. They have photos of an X-101 cruise missile shot down during a massive shelling. The serial number on the missile made it possible to establish when the missile was manufactured.

The main feature of this X-101 is that it had a dual warhead: in addition to the standard 450 kg, it also had an additional 350 kg warhead.

"According to the data that was publicly available until today, the Russians were able to put a double warhead weighing 800 kg on the X-101 by reducing the size of the fuel tank and reducing the range from approximately 5500 km to 2250 km," the article says.

Thus, the enemy was able to increase the destructive power of the X-101 missile by using a double warhead, while maintaining a range sufficient to strike at the territory of Ukraine.

Earlier, we wrote that Russia has modified the X-101 missiles it uses to strike Ukraine from strategic aviation. The enemy now produces these missiles with two warheads, the total weight of which is about 800 kg.

British intelligence added that the occupiers have also probably reduced the missile's range.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on the night of May 8, the aggressor country Russia launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine, launching cruise and ballistic missiles and kamikaze attack drones. Energy infrastructure and civilian buildings in seven regions of Ukraine were hit.
