Sapper captured by AFU spoke about the elimination of their own: his commander already shot 20 soldiers
Ukrainian troops captured a Russian sapper from the Storm-V unit of the 21st Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation near Avdiivka. The prisoner, named Dmitry Klever, spoke about the heavy losses of the Russian Federation from the Ukrainian army's attacks with cluster munitions. In addition, the occupiers shot 20 of their "fugitives" before his eyes.
The video with the prisoner's story was published by journalist Yuriy Butusov on November 11. The Russian sapper said that he had "different impressions of the war" (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).
"I thought it wouldn't be so... tough. It turned out to be the opposite as many of our men were killed by cluster shells. It was a big loss," Klever said.
The prisoner also said that his unit actively practices the elimination of fugitives, who are called "cargo 500" (200 for dead and 300 for wounded) in the Russian occupation army.
"There were also those who escaped and they are considered the 'cargo 500'. They are not talked to, not asked why they escaped, they are just shot right away. About 20 people were shot in front of me in a forest belt. When someone went back without a command, they shoot their own people, the commanders order it and open fire," he said.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Vitaliy Matvienko, a spokesman for the "I Want to Live" center, said that the Russian occupiers, as well as those mobilized from Crimea, are increasingly surrendering to the Armed Forces of Ukraine because they do not want to be "cannon fodder".
