Russians prepare for defence: the enemy has amassed 150,000 troops in the south

The number of Russian troops is not enough to take up positions along the entire frontline

The Russians are in full swing preparing for defence in the event of a counter-offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In the south of our country, the enemy has already amassed 150,000 troops.

This was stated by military expert Oleg Zhdanov in an interview with Channel 24. According to him, the largest forces of Russian war criminals are concentrated in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

However, Zhdanov stressed that the number of Russian troops is not enough to take up positions along the entire frontline. Therefore, for example, near Melitopol, the occupiers are resorting to focal defence. They are building strongholds in small towns.

"They are partially equipping defence centres along the Dnipro coast. However, even so, the Russians have problems with personnel. They cannot provide enough troops for the second line of defence," the military expert explained.

According to him, a Russian regiment can hold the defence at a distance of 10-15 km from the front.

"If the front is 300 km long, then 20-25 regiments are needed. They definitely don't have that many," the expert is convinced.

Zhdanov suggests that during the Ukrainian counter-offensive, the Russian army will move its forces gradually. But this will not help the occupiers.

"The absence of a powerful army is also evidenced by the decrease in the intensity of personnel replenishment: if earlier thousands of soldiers were brought to the demarcation line, now hundreds are brought. They do not train them on the spot and do not bring them here ready to go into battle, but they will be trained here," Zhdanov said.

According to him, the Russians also have a problem with their equipment.

"Apparently, they realised that Javelin and Stugna-P have a tandem charge. If it's a tandem charge, then you need to weld two grids. So the number of 150,000 Russian troops is actually nothing for more than 500 kilometres along the front line," Zhdanov said.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Ukraine will launch a counter-offensive as soon as weather conditions allow and it is possible to accumulate the necessary minimum of equipment, weapons and ammunition. Our country cannot afford to wait for all the problems faced by the Ukrainian army countering Russian aggression to be resolved, so the work to find resources for a large-scale offensive continues at all levels and on different continents.
