Russian troops fired S-300 missiles at the city of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region, at about 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 31. The shelling damaged the warehouses of a civilian enterprise, but fortunately, there were no casualties.

Residents of Chuhuiv district were urged to take shelter. There were about four strikes, said Oleg Syniehubov , head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, as of 16:08.

"To the attention of residents of Chuhuiv and the district: stay in shelters! The occupiers have launched about four strikes, preliminary: S-300 missiles," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

As of 18:51, the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office said that according to preliminary data, the enemy was attacking Chuhuiv from the territory of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.

"According to the investigation, on December 31, around 16:00, the Russian military launched a missile attack on the city of Chuhuiv. The shelling damaged the warehouses of a civilian enterprise. There were no casualties," the statement said.

Under the procedural supervision of the Chuhuiv District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was initiated into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the night before, the Russian Federation launched a massive shelling of Kharkiv, hitting a hotel and residential buildings in the city center, and injuring more than two dozen people.

The Russian Defense Ministry cynically stated that the attack on the infrastructure facility allegedly eliminated the participants of the "terrorist attack" in Belgorod.

At the same time, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine called Shoigu's statements nonsense. All 28 victims were civilians.
