The losses of the Russian occupation forces near Bakhmut are enormous and amount to about 100,000. In this regard, there are no discrepancies between Ukrainian and American data.

This was stated by Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, on the air of the national telethon "United News". He noted that much depends on the methodology of calculation and the time period for which the information is provided.

"There is no disagreement here. There is a question of the difference in methodology. There is one approach, when total losses are presented together with the killed and wounded. Or separately killed and wounded. Another question is: for what period is it provided," Yusov said.

According to him, there is a constant exchange of information between the Ukrainian and American sides, and there are no discrepancies between these data.

"The losses of the racists near Bakhmut are really colossal and they absolutely do not correspond to either the goals or the stated results," Yusov added.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL reported that on May 21, US President Joe Biden, speaking at the G7 leaders' platform in Japan, commented on the situation in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, which has been a key point of the battle between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian occupiers for 6 months. He noted that Russia has lost more than 100,000 troops in this battle.

On May 2, the same figure was voiced by John Kirby, the speaker of the White House National Security Council. According to him, since December 2022 alone, Russia has lost 100,000 personnel in Bakhmut, including more than 20,000 killed.

However, on May 19, Ukraine's Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov gave different figures. According to his estimates, the enemy lost up to 70,000 invaders in killed and wounded in the fighting in the Bakhmut sector.
