Russian drone attacks a Ukrainian TV crew in Kharkiv region: a cameraman is wounded
A TSN crew came under Russian fire near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region. Cameraman Pavel Borisko received multiple shrapnel wounds and was taken to the hospital.
This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office. It is noted that criminal proceedings have been initiated over the commission of a war crime (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The incident occurred on the morning of February 4 while reporters were filming a story about the Ukrainian military. The occupiers attacked the TSN journalist team with an FPV drone.
"A 31-year-old cameraman was injured. The victim was taken to the hospital. Doctors are providing him with the necessary assistance," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
The media outlet said that journalist Oleksandr Motorny and cameraman Pavlo Borysko came under Russian fire while filming the work of Ukrainian UAV operators.
"At some point, artillery fire started around us. The guys said that there would most likely be an assault. They received the command to take off. The guys took off, and Pasha and I filmed the first launch," says journalist Oleksandr Motorny.
Borisko was filming the launch of the next drone and was next to the crew member. At that moment, they were attacked by an enemy drone.
"At first I thought the artillery had arrived. After 30 seconds, we jumped out into the street and I saw Pavlo near the hiding place. I immediately jumped to him - he was lying wounded, covered in blood. The second guy was even more injured. The commander of the squad ran up and pulled the turnstile, as it should be," said Motornyi.
The media noted that the film crew was evacuated.
As a result of the enemy's strike, cameraman Pavlo Borysko received multiple shrapnel wounds and a broken leg. Currently, doctors are providing him with all the necessary assistance.
