President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on American partners to urgently transfer ATACMS-300 long-range missiles to our country. Our military needs them to hit targets, primarily military airfields, in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The President spoke about this urgent need of the Armed Forces in an interview with The Washington Post. He emphasized that Russia launches precision-guided missiles against Ukraine from Crimean airfields. In particular, they recently attacked Odesa.

"When Russia has missiles and we don't, they attack everything: gas and energy facilities, schools, factories, civilian buildings," Zelenskyy said.

He noted that ATACMS could be a response to this terror and assured that such missiles would not be used against Russian territory. They will only target airfields in Crimea.

"When Russia knows that we can destroy these aircraft, they will not attack from Crimea. It's like with the navy. We pushed them out of our territorial waters. Now we will push them out of the airports in Crimea," the Ukrainian leader said.

In February, Zelenskyy said he was positive about providing the Defense Forces with longer-range ATACMS missiles. Ukraine is working to obtain such weapons.

On March 20, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the US is not yet ready to announce the delivery of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine. At the same time, Biden's administration will continue its efforts to support our country in the war against Russia.
