Russia set a record for the number of "Shaheds" launched in Ukraine in September: the numbers are reported

In September 2024, the defenders of the sky shot down 1110 Shaheds out of 1331 over Ukraine

In September 2024, there was not a single night in Ukraine when Russia did not attack our regions with Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones. The occupiers launched a record number of such attack UAVs in a month – 1331.

Of these, Ukrainian air defense shot down 1110 enemy drones, which is 83.39%. The statistics were collected by the author of the popular Telegram channel "Mykolaiv Vanek," which anonymously informs Ukrainians of important information about the fighting.

"The absolute record for mopeds launched in September is 1331. The number of mopeds launched in July + August (426 and 793 respectively) has been broken," the author wrote.

In his opinion, no matter what they say about the "Gerbera" (a UAV that Russian troops position as a "junior series of Shahed-136"), the vast majority of drones launched by the occupiers are Iranian "Shaheds." Moreover, they are almost the latest version – with Chinese bells and whistles and other components.

"For example, in our Mykolaiv region, there were no "Gerberas" at all," Vanek noted.

Russia set a record for the number of ''Shaheds'' launched in Ukraine in September: the numbers are reported

According to the above data, in September 2014, the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 85% of Russian X-101/X-555/X-55 missiles launched from Tu-95MS bombers, i.e. 17 out of 20. In addition, the defenders of the sky neutralized all three "Iskander-K" missiles launched by the enemy in a month (100% of the damage).

In addition, the author says that in September, massive shelling took place only at the beginning of the month. At the same time, the enemy made "mediocre attempts" to hit various targets with "Kinzhal" air defense missiles. Russia used 11 TU-95MS, seven TU-22M3, and seven MiG-31K aircraft in its air attacks on Ukraine.

According to Vanek, the Ukrainian Defense Forces set an absolute record for the month in terms of targets downed by mobile fire groups (over 50%); aviation; and electronic warfare targets downed.

"This is very good, given that the target mopeds are then "processed" and sent back (no details here, we don't send them in the form of mopeds)," the author of the post states.

He also noted the unusually low hit rate of the "Shahed." However, he emphasized that Russia is expected to accumulate missiles for the winter period. Electricity and water supply remain among the enemy's planned targets (as more than 85% of drones allegedly tried to hit such facilities). It is also clear that soon, Ukraine will face further attempts by the Russian Federation to hit its energy and critical infrastructure.

"I would like to sincerely thank all the soldiers of the military police, pilots, and other specialists for their anti-moped work every night. Without these fighters, the situation with electricity would have been catastrophic, just imagine the disaster that so many mopeds could have caused. We keep the line!" Mykolaiv Vanek summarized.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, according to analysts, Russia has increased production of "Shaheds" in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone (Tatarstan). According to the aggressor's plan, 6,000 of these drones were to be produced there by September 2025, but the Russians managed to achieve this figure a year earlier.

In addition, the Russian invaders installed Starlink terminals on the "Shahed." This allows the enemy to control attack drones with unlimited range.
