Russia launches cruise and ballistic missiles at Ukraine, Poland scrambles fighter jets: all details

At about four o'clock in the morning on March 29, an air raid alert was declared throughout Ukraine due to Russia's launch of cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as Shahed drones. The enemy used them to attack energy facilities: explosions were heard in the number of regions, and air defense systems were activated.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine and local military administrations reported the danger. It is noteworthy that once again, during a massive Russian attack on our country, Poland took fighter jets to the sky.

The monitoring channels clarified that at 04:15, Russian cruise missiles headed for Poltava and Dnipro via Kharkiv region. The enemy launched them from Tu-95MS aircraft. The occupiers also launched attack UAVs at this time.

At about 04:50, it was reported that three MiG-31Ks had taken off from the Savasleyka airfield in Russia, and later that these aircraft had launched Kinzhal ballistic missiles. The threat of attacks existed in Lviv region, where, in addition to these missiles, drones were also flying.

There were reports of explosions in Poltava and Dnipro regions. In addition, at around 05:00, it was loud on the border of Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions. At 05:20, an explosion was heard in the Khmelnytskyi region, and 10-15 minutes later - in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

According to reports in social media, there was damage in the Tetiiv community of the Kyiv region. Preliminarily, there were no casualties.

Consequences of the attack

Ukrenergo reported that during this massive combined attack, the Russian aggressor country targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure facilities, and damage was recorded.

In particular, thermal and hydroelectric power plants in the central and western regions were damaged.

Emergency shutdowns were introduced in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and hourly outage schedules were introduced in the Kharkiv region.

Poland's reaction

The Polish Operational Command issued a warning at around 05:00 on Friday with the following text:

"Attention. Poland and its allies have taken aircraft to the sky, which may lead to increased noise levels, especially in the southeastern part of the country. Intensive activities of the Russian Federation's long-range aviation are being observed, including missile strikes on targets located in Ukraine. All necessary procedures have been initiated to ensure the safety of Polish airspace. The Joint Chiefs of Staff are constantly monitoring the situation."

As reported, in the evening of March 28, the aggressor country of the Russian Federation launched UAVs at Ukraine. In particular, air defense systems were operating in the Kyiv and Cherkasy regions. A large-scale air raid alert was also announced in Ukraine due to the missile threat.

At 12 p.m. on March 28, the enemy also took MiG jets to the sky from Savasleika. Fortunately, no missile launches were reported at the time.
