On the morning of November 15, the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, took off a number of strategic bombers carrying long-range cruise missiles, which subsequently carried out launch maneuvers. Although the enemy did not launch missile strikes, such activity by Russian aviation in Ukraine prompted air alerts in a number of regions.

The threat was reported at about 06:00 on Friday by the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the military, at that time, six Tu-95MS aircraft from the Olenya airfield flew southeast, and then the number of aircraft increased to eight.

"In case of a missile threat, we will inform you additionally. Do not ignore air raid warnings!" the warning read.

The monitoring Telegram channel "Mykolaiv Vanek" predicted that if this is a combat flight of Russian Tu-95MS aircraft, then the approach to the launch bases to Engels/Caspian Sea is expected around 06:30-07:20.

Later, he added that six Russian bombers were flying toward the launch sites near the Caspian Sea. Thus, they will be in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation at about 07:10–07:45, and if the launches are from here, a missile attack is likely to take place closer to 07:40–08:25.

"In the Caspian Sea area, they will be at about 07:50-08:20. If the launches are from here, we expect missiles closer to 08:30," the author emphasized.

According to the updated data as of 06:45, there were about eight Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the air in Russia.

Around 08:30, five Tu-95MS aircraft performed launch maneuvers in the Caspian Sea region.

"If the launches are real, we expect missiles in our airspace around 09:00," monitoring channels reported.

An alert was issued in Kharkiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Poltava regions due to the missile threat.

After 10:00, it was noted that no missiles were detected in Ukrainian airspace. The first TU-95MS landed at the Dyagilevo airbase, while the rest flew to the home airfield.

The Monitor Telegram channel reported that the Russian bombers eventually left the launch zone and partially landed at Engels and Dyagilevo.

"The Russian Federation conducts training of long-range aviation crews, quite often simultaneously with practical launches of air-launched missile weapons. Because of this, the flights of aircraft often do not lead to actual attacks, and "simulated launches" are part of the so-called initial process," the author noted.

He emphasized that the potential threat from such flights still exists, which is why preventive air alerts are announced in certain areas.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council responded to the fake news about Russia's alleged refusal to launch massive strikes against Ukraine. They called on Ukrainians to believe Russian propagandists less, because there are enough missiles at strategic aviation bases in Russia to massively shell our cities, and the enemy's own aircraft are also on alert.
