Power engineers work to restore electricity supply in Uman after Russia targets an infrastructure facility in the city
On the night of January 28, Russian troops attacked Cherkasy region. In Uman, enemy drones damaged an infrastructure facility.
The city is currently experiencing power outages, the city water supper is running on generators, and specialists are restoring heating in homes. Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, and Iryna Pletneva, head of the Uman City Council, commented on the consequences of the attack.
The air raid alert in Cherkasy region began at 22:03 on January 27 and lasted until 05:26 on January 28. Air defense forces were active in the region. However, the Russian attack did not go without consequences: an infrastructure facility was damaged in Uman, which led to problems with electricity supply in the city.
"All utility companies are working to stabilize the situation as soon as possible. An emergency response headquarters has been deployed to coordinate actions on the spot. The most important thing is that people are safe. We can handle the rest," said Taburets.
The head of the Uman City Council said that power companies are doing everything possible to restore electricity supply as soon as possible too, while utility companies - water and heat.
"Umanvodokanal is running on generators, so water is supplied to homes and sewage systems are working. Umanneteplokomunenergo is currently doing everything to restore heat supply as well. We are grateful to everyone who ensures the country's stability in extreme conditions. We thank the Armed Forces for their protection, too," emphasized Pletneva.
As a reminder, last night Russian drones also targeted Kharkiv - Russian troops attacked a woodworking shop in the Novobavarskyi district in the regional center, after which a large-scale fire broke out at the enterprise over an area of about 1,500 square meters.
